Default Brand new vdo card and mobo = weird

Okay so i got a new video card (nVidia 7600gt oc) and a new motherboard for it. with the new motherboard i had to reinstall windows and therefore GW and everything else.

now in GW the startup screen where you select your character is runing at 60fps and in game when standing still outside i get 50-60fps. Now here is the weird part once i start a fight the ping goes up by about 200 then the fps goes down to about 10-20fps and when in towns is at 5-10fps.

if i change the visual settings all the stats stay the same (give or take 5-10)

i can play bf2 on full settings with little lag so i dont think its the video card

so my question is ...is there a way to tell what is the problem

specs

intel P4 2.9ghz
nVidia 7600gt oc 256mb pci-e
1gig ram
isp: AOL broadband
if more specs are needed i will find them

so .... any ideas anybody

Mother board brand migh be needed as well. There have been problems with AOL in the past with onlin games in general so that may be it cropping up its nasty little head again Contact AOl to make sure they have not done somehing to limit your bandwidth while you play games online.

Wait, do you mean you're running the AOL software in the background, or that you have AOL broadband? That software is a system resources hog, just shut it down and keep the internet connection.
